Schattauer GmbH
Friedrich Karl Schattauer founded Schattauer Publishers in Stuttgart in 1949. The publishing program comprises about 600 current book titles, mostly atlasses, textbooks and manuals for physicians and students as well as other health care professionals. Seventeen journals in the fields of human and veterinary medicine, psychology, psychotherapy and psychiatry make up the second focus of publication. All journals are available online as full text in addition to the printed version. Numerous book titles have been published in several languages, partly by Schattauer‘s, partly as licensed editions by other international publishers. The colour atlasses, especially the title "Colour Atlas of Anatomy“, which has been translated into 18 languages to date, are renown worldwide. Moreover, Schattauer is continually expanding in the area of electronic media.
